1. Lens Distance
To get the most out of your VR experience, it is important that your vision is clear. You can adjust the focus of your Meta Quest VR headset in 2 steps:
- Measure your pupil distance
- Adjust the lenses
1.1. Measure Your Pupil Distance
Before focusing the lenses, you can measure your pupil distance. You can do this yourself with a millimeter ruler and a mirror, or with the help of a friend.
- Stand in front of a mirror and hold the ruler above your eyes.
- Close one eye and align the end of the ruler with the pupil of your open eye.
- Keep the ruler in place and open your other eye.
- Mark on the ruler where your other pupil is located.
- Read the measurement in millimeters to determine your pupil distance.
1.2. Adjust the Lenses on Quest 3S
You can move the lenses of the Meta Quest 3S closer together or farther apart.
There are 3 different settings. Depending on your pupil distance, you can choose one of the 3 options:
Setting 1: Distance of 61 mm or less
Setting 2: Between 61 mm and 66 mm
Setting 3: 66 mm or more
If the image remains blurry after adjustment, slide the lenses slightly until the image becomes clear.
2. Adjust Volume
To adjust the volume, use the volume button located on the underside of the headset.
You can also do this through the settings menu when the headset is active. For a more immersive experience, you can connect audio via a Bluetooth headset. This can be configured in the headset's settings menu.
3. Passthrough button
Next to the volume button, you will find the activation button for the Passthrough option.
The Quest 3s headset does not have a double-tap feature to activate Passthrough. By pressing the activation button, you can switch between VR and XR modes.
The Passthrough view on the Quest 3s offers a full-color display of your surroundings.
