360-degree images are handy to give viewers immersive experiences.
Add a 360 Image to your AR or VR Space.
Open Fectar Studio, go to the Space you want to edit and open the Layout tab. Click on Add Content.
The "File Manager" window will pop up. You can upload your 360 images (.png, .jpg, or .jpeg) or use an image in the File Manager. Then, click on the image and click on "Select."
To learn more about the file manager, click here.
Good to know: Fectar uses Equirectangular projection. If you are unsure if your 360 image is the correct format, please check this page about Equirectangular projection.
Your image is assigned to your Space. Now, you can change the content type to 360 Image. But, first, select the image spot and click on the white dropdown menu.
A dropdown menu opens. Here are multiple options that change the content type. Click on 360 Image to add the type.
Properties of a 360 Image
At the bottom of the Spot Properties tab, you will find the options concerning a 360 image. There are two options to display the 360 images as a Portal; this is the default. A portal is a door to a new world. The user walks through the door, entering a 360-degrees image. Check out the video below to see a Portal in action.
The second option is a 360-degree immersive Dome. You can Switch between the two by using the Use Portal Toggle.
When you use the default Use portal, we recommend filling in 100 in the Width and 200 in the Height. Then, when ready, Click the Orange Save Button to save the changes.
